SUNGAI BULOH - Concerned neighbours reported that several pet dogs had been left unattended to for one week. According to them, the owner had left suddenly in the middle of the night, and never returned for his belongings or his dogs.

One puppy (mini pinscher-mix) was found confined in a playpen filled with faeces on the porch, and appeared to be malnourished. Two more mix-breed adult dogs were found roaming outside the compound.

The neighbours had been feeding the dogs out of pity, and the dogs appeared to be in good condition. The complainants decided to adopt the two adult dogs. With the assistance of enforcement officers from the Department of Veterinary Services, the SPCA Inspectors entered the compound and took the puppy back to the shelter for adoption.
